Clinical Navigator – GP

We are looking to welcome GPs to FedBucks, in the role of Clinical Navigator.

The aim of the Clinical Navigator is to work closely with the Operational Shift Manager, providing Clinical oversight and leadership to ensure that cases are effectively managed through our Service achieving the best and safest outcome for our patients in accordance with priority timeframes.

They are the point of contact for the clinical team if any additional support or advice is required and the Shift Manager if they have any clinical concerns.

Principles

  • To work closely with Shift Manager providing Clinical overview of service to ensure that patients are managed in a safe and timely manner
  • Continually reviewing and organising the triaging clinicians to ensure the assessment queue (otherwise known as triage queue or speak to GP queue) is safely managed.
  • Oversight of assessment pool, base and visiting services
  • Point of contact for support if required by other members of the clinical team

Limitations

Clinical Navigators have to be experienced and able to effectively assess and manage risk in a manner that is pragmatic without becoming reckless. They must be able to juggle several different priorities and maintain a focus on efficient working, team working within this role is essential. They will need to be proficient in Adastra and need to have completed the Electronic Prescribing (EPS) training.

Computer with Adastra, either desk top or laptop if working remotely

Working telephone with headset

Log ins for Adastra, Sesui and ICE

 

This role is weekends / bank holidays only, from Smeaton Close, Aylesbury; or could possibly be worked remotely once confident in the role.

Overnight GP – Out of Hours

We are recruiting for GPs to join our team to cover overnights in our Out of Hours service across Buckinghamshire.

Base will be either Aylesbury or Wycombe

We are looking for Midnight – 08:00 cover in a lead role for Out of Hours.

The service operates with reduced capacity overnight, the 2 clinicians working cover all areas required.  Both clinicians are expected to work as a team to cover the triage, home visits and base cases.  Working across the county the clinicians work will be driven by the demand and priority of cases which could result in one clinician covering triage and another covering the home visits in order to manage within priority order.

Example salaries:

  • A GP picking up 2 midweek overnight shifts and 1 weekend overnight (Friday/Saturday) shift would attract a salary of approximately £82,000. 
  • A GP picking up 1 midweek overnight shift would attract a salary of approx £26,000
